Now since I kind of grew up listening to her music, I wanted the sketch, and colored drawing come out looking great. ![]() I can remember liking her older stuff when I was like twelve. That is the song that I think of when her name is mentioned. If your wondering when they heck did her more recent hit single come in to play? Well, “Girlfriend” was a track from her 2006 album, “The Best Damn Thing”. Did you know that the song that Kelly Clarkson sings, “Breakaway”, was in fact written by Avril? It's true, Avril co-wrote the song with Matthew Gerard, cool huh? Anyway, the most recognized song from that album to reach pop culture was “My Happy Ending”. The next album to make pop culture was in 2004 and it was called “Under My Skin”. Other popular songs included Sk8er Boi, and I'm With You. The hit single from that album, was “Complicated”, and it was number one in Australia, and held in at number two in the United States. In 2002, she released her first album titled “Let Go”. Soon after, Avril was singing in a book store when she was noticed by “Cliff Fabri”. She sang with Shania Twain, as they performed “What Made You Say That”. It wasn't until 1998 that fourteen year old Lavigne, got her chance to sing with a famous country star that had also been from Canada. That is when Avril's mother knew her daughter had talent. She started singing when she was just two years old with her mother. Anyway, he named his daughter Avril after the French word “April”. Her father is Jean-Claude Lavigne, and as you can tell by his name, he is totally French. But who is she and how did she start her career? Her full name is “Avril Ramona Lavigne”, and she was born on September 27, 1984, which makes her around twenty five years old today. I say this because Avril is from Canada, and she helped develop a new sound in the 2000's era. It's not often that I draw famous faces on Canadian stars that have built an American reputation for themselves. Someone asked if I could teach them " how to draw Avril Lavigne", step by step. ![]() That's the case with this first lesson for the day. Every once in a while I will come across a tutorial request that brings back major memories. ![]()

![]() Overall GPU attach rate includes both integrated and discrete units, desktop GPUs, laptop models, and those installed in workstations. The above applies to discrete GPUs, but Intel does play a part in the overall GPU attach rate. However, year-over-year, Nvidia increased its lead by 3%, leaving AMD further behind. Jon Peddie Research reports that over the last quarter, AMD and Nvidia both maintained the same market share that they held in the second quarter: Nvidia holds 83% of GPU sales, and the rest belongs to AMD. As such, all of these numbers apply almost oolely to Nvidia and AMD. Intel is gearing up to join the battle with its upcoming Intel Arc Alchemist line, but until then, the manufacturer has almost no market share when it comes to discrete graphics cards. The GPU market continues to be a two-horse race between Nvidia and AMD. Even accounting for the current situation in the world, a drop of 18.2% is massive and far above the 10-year average of -5.2%. This quarter used to be the strongest in terms of hardware sales, but all of the previous statistics have been thrown out the window due to various supply chain issues, shortages, and of course, the ongoing pandemic. Compared to the second quarter of 2021, GPU shipments dropped by 18.2% in the third quarter of this year. While yearly sales have gone up, quarterly results took a huge dive. These sales mark a 12% year-over-year growth, continuing the upward trend affecting most of the PC market. Those are massive numbers, especially when taking the ongoing graphics card shortage into consideration. ![]() Over 101 million GPUs have been shipped as of the third quarter of 2021. The statistics apply to PC-based graphics cards. On the other hand, comparing sales to the previous year still shows massive growth that speaks volumes about current demand. ![]() Fitbit Versa 3Īlthough many desktop users all over the globe are still hunting for one of the best graphics cards, market analysis shows a large drop in GPU sales.Īccording to Jon Peddie Research, a firm that specializes in tech industry analysis, graphics card sales dropped by 18.2% compared to the previous quarter. ![]() ![]() ![]() Likewise, if the choice is made to remain consistent, one side of the partition must act as if it is unavailable, resulting in the loss of A. Allowing at least one node to update its state will cause the nodes to become inconsistent, resulting in a loss of C. The easiest way to understand CAP is to think of two partitions on different nodes. This is a consequence of the requirements for the functioning of the system, as well as a necessity in the case of asynchronous communication between nodes - the presence of asynchrony makes it difficult to detect lost nodes - you can not determine whether the message was not sent/received at all, or it goes slow due to delays in the network. In practice, those messages whose delivery has exceeded a certain time limit are also considered lost. Partitioning means that all packets from the nodes of one partition do not reach the nodes of the other partition. Partition toleranceĪ system with this property will remain functional if an arbitrary number of messages sent between nodes on the network are lost. In practice, a time constraint should be added to this definition, since lack of it can lead to a result equivalent to no answer. Author, Eric Brewer originally put forward a softer requirement: "almost all queries must get answers," but a strict version of this requirement was used in the proof of the theorem. ![]() The existence of this property means, that every query received by a healthy node entails an answer. Thus, each read operation must return the value set in the last write operation. In the formal proof, this property is called atomicity and is expressed in the existence in a distributed system of a common order of operations, which is similar to the order occurring in a non-distributed system. The CAP theorem states that a distributed system can have at most two properties out of three simultaneously: ConsistencyĬonsistency here is quite different from the consistency guaranteed in ACID transactions(more about this later). ![]() But then it changed its definition slightly and acquired a proof, which turned it into a theorem. The first version of the CAP principle appeared as ACID versus BASE. Why is the CAP theorem true? What is the CAP theorem explain? Do we have an alternative? And it still valid but we have a ton of critique on it. In other words, when asked to perform the same task under the same constraints, quantum theory provides a larger success probability than what any classical model (including the aforementioned toy theories) would allow.įinally, Lostaglio and Senno also show that this fundamental difference between quantum and non-contextual theories still exists in the more realistic state-dependent cloning experiment where the measurement procedures $M_s$ are allowed to be noisy.Tradeoffs in modern distributed system design are everywhere - CAP theorem is only part of the story. asks is what is the maximum success probability that a classical version of the experiment can achieve, provided that it complies with the operational constraints? The answer is “well, some number which depends on the particular case, but that number will always be smaller than what quantum theory lets you achieve”. That is, the average probability (over all the states we could be asked to clone) that our imperfect clone gives the outcome 1 when the certificate measurement $M_s$ (with $s$ being the state of the perfect clone) is performed on it. First identified by Bell back in 1964, and later posed in more general terms by Kochen and Specker, contextuality identifies an inconsistency between two classically ingrained ideas: (i) that the observables we measure correspond to physical properties that have a predefined value, which is merely revealed by the measurement, and (ii) that the value of a property is independent of which other observables you happen to be measuring at the same time (i.e., the $\textit$ with which a state can be cloned in the task of state-dependent cloning. ![]() Contextuality is one of the features of quantum theory that have no intuitive explanation. ![]() ![]() ![]() Harry is not supposed to be old enough to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, a series of challenges pitting the best student from Hogwarts (which turns out to be Robert Pattinson!) against the champions of several other wizarding schools. Harris sadly died before the filming of this movie, and Dumbledore was played by Michael Gambon for the rest of the series’ run. But all is not what it seems, and with an assist from his new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Remy Lupin ( David Thewlis), Harry begins unraveling secrets that will extend his network of allies for the battles to come. The school is locked down and surrounded by Dementors, ghostly, grim reaper-like figures tasked with returning Black to the prison. (You can probably thank incoming director Alfonso Cuarón for that.) Sirius Black ( Gary Oldman), who has been locked up in Azkaban for supporting Voldemort, has escaped, setting the wizarding community on edge. Also known as the one where these movies start getting really, really good. It’s up to Harry to set things right, but to do so, he’ll need to unlock the secrets of an enchanted diary that was written by a former student named Tom Riddle. These attacks seem to be related to the titular Chamber of Secrets, a secret room supposedly hidden in Hogwarts that could purge the school of students not born to wizard parents (discriminatorily called “mudbloods” in the Wizarding World). It’s Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, and the school has a problem – something or someone is freezing the students into a petrified state. As the Hogwarts Headmaster, Dumbledore (now played by Richard Harris) keeps an eye on everyone, while Harry and his pals attempt to solve a mystery involving a giant three-headed dog and the magical Sorcerer’s Stone. Upon entering the school, he meets his new BFFs, Ron Weasley ( Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger ( Emma Watson), and immediately draws the ire of his potions teacher, the mysterious Severus Snape (Alan Rickman). That all changes with the arrival of a mysterious owl bringing exciting news: Harry is a wizard and he has been accepted into Hogwarts to begin his magical training. Harry has been raised by his aunt and uncle in the years since, oblivious to the magical world around him. As a baby, Harry ( Daniel Radcliffe) survived an attack by Voldemort that backfired on the dark lord, disembodying him, and claimed the lives of Harry’s parents. In addition to Dumbledore, The Crimes of Grindelwald introduces other characters who will later play a significant role in the Harry Potter films, including a young Minerva McGonagall and Nagini, a circus performer whose blood curse will permanently transform her into a giant snake.Īt this point we jump ahead over a half-century and begin the main series, which will track the orphan Harry Potter’s yearly adventures at Hogwarts as he battles against various dark forces, including the evil wizard Lord Voldemort. Set in 1926, roughly seven decades prior to Harry Potter beginning his education at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the first Fantastic Beasts movie focuses on the New York adventures of Newt Scamander ( Eddie Redmayne), a British wizard and Ministry of Magic employee who finds himself embroiled in an insidious scheme involving the Magical Congress of the United States and a powerful wizard named Gellert Grindelwald (revealed late in the film to be Johnny Depp), who believes wizards should reign over non-magical humans. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Unfortunately, watching 'Rise of the Machines' didn't change my mind. Though Cameron wisely sat this one out, Schwarzenegger and company appeared intent on tarnishing what was once a shiny endoskeleton with a pretty transparent attempt to wring yet more profits out of a washed-up old franchise. So it was with a bit of dread that I greeted the news of 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,' which was brought to the screen in 2003, almost twenty years after the original film. Yet the Terminator was also a character of limited potential that Cameron was able to pull off 1991's ' Terminator 2' as successfully as he did is a rarity in sequel-dom, a follow-up that successfully expanded the original's universe, characters, and themes, while managing to cap off the series on a high note. Playing a cyborg intent on starting/preventing mass nuclear annihilation, The Terminator was the perfect fit for Schwarzenegger's decidedly unique persona: big, intimidating and monosyllabic.
